Mercedes-Benz 722 series – automatic transmission electronic diagnosis. Transfers are fully automatic 4 or 5-speed consisting of a 3-element welded torque converters, 2 or 3 compound planetary gear sets, 2 or 3 multiple disc clutches, overrunning clutch and 3 brake band. See figures 1 and 2. Brake band control function of planetary gear sets. A hydraulic system, Pressurized by a primary gear pump type and a secondary piston type pump provides pressure required to operate the friction elements, and automatic controls. Check and adjust adjust pressure. Governor damaged or defective working pressure. Valve body worn or damaged. Replace valve (if required). Check Teflon rings support join K-2. Replace the inner plates of join K-2 or recondition clutch (if necessary).
