2002 Hyundai Santa Fe GL – car review. The introduction of the Santa Fe last year labelled Hyundais first incursion in the popular sport utility vehicle market. Most compact SUVs, Santa Fe is built on a reinforced car platform, in this case, the Sonata, and uses Sonata powertrains. It is available in GL, GL V-6 and GLS V-6 versions, with all-wheel drive available only for V-6 models.
Santa Fe has much going for it. Hyundai has adopted formula car-based platform that is used by several competing models to produce comfortable vehicles that handles well and are fun to drive. Although there are still a few wrinkles to iron out – sound isolation and the small radio controls will immediately think – Santa Fe is a very attractive choice in their category.
